Hi everyone!
Sorry it has been forever since I wrote on my blog! My excuse is that I have been having the best time ever and haven't had a chance to sit down at a computer!
I am now in Byron Bay in Australia - which is amazingly beautiful, the beach stretches for miles and the golden sand squeaks beneath your feet as you walk (like I imagine icing sugar would!). My friend Josh (who I met in New Zealand, he's from Reading) and I are on a 9 day adventure up the east coast of Australia. We are staying 3 nights in Byron Bay, then 2 nights in Noosa, a night in Rainbow Beach, 2 nights on Fraser Island, another night in Rainbow Beach then flying from Brisbane to Melbourne on the 18th - for Christmas and New Year!
Today we rode bikes to the eastern most point of Australia and climbed a lighthouse! Tomorrow we are going to Nimbin for the day (an old hippy village - sounds awesome!)
Since I last wrote my blog I have had the best month in New Zealand. It is the most amazingly beautiful place I have ever visited, and I was travelling with a lovely bunch of people who just made the trip the most fun. I felt the happiest I have felt in a while and every day the country just blew my mind with its beauty! I will write a better, more detailed blog when I have more time (it's nearly time for free dinner!), but I just did some incredible things and have memories to cherish forever. I didn't want to leave New Zealand, I didn't want the adventure to end and I didn't want to leave my new friends - but it was amazing while it lasted! I will be sure to return to New Zealand (my next dream is to drive round the country in a campervan, when I have more time to enjoy the incredible countryside!). Here's a quick run-down of some of the awesome things I did while I was in New Zealand: sky diving, whale watching, went in a helicopter to walk on a glacier, kayaking on a mirrored lake, lazing in thermal hot pools, the biggest canyon swing in the world, went on an 8 hour trek up a volcano next to Mount Doom, Black Water Rafting in a cave to see glow worms....and lots of other incredible things....I also saw lots of animals: rare yellow eyed penguins, dolphins, sperm whales, seals and sea lions, kiwis, albatross and lots of crazy birds....Anyway, I'll write more about it soon and try to upload some photos, but that's just a taster for now!
After New Zealand I flew to Sydney to meet Ed and his brother Phil (who is at uni in Sydney). We stayed at Phil's house for 2 weeks (which was a lovely break after moving around every other day!) and had a great 2 week holiday with Ed and Phil. It was fun for Ed and Phil to show me the sights of Sydney, where they spent a lot of time when they were growing up. I will write more about Sydney too, but I had a great time there!
Sooooo...that's all for now, but I'll try to write more when I'm in Melbourne. Sorry again that it's been so long but hopefully you can forgive me for having the time of my life!
I hope everyone in England is keeping warm (and you Uncle Richard in Canada!), it was only about 33 degrees today so nothing too hot!! (Don't hate me too much!)
Lots of love, hope you're all taking care xxxxxx

Uncle Richard Deep fried turkey dinner on the beach? You gotta do it. We had Christmas in July a couple of years back and emulated the Ozzie version. Nothing better! Raining here too - but it's the freezing kind. I imagine yours is just a tad warmer. Take care - and watch out for those koala claws ... xox
