Had a mad couple of days! Went out to these islands on Lake Titicaca, which is the highest navigable lake in the world (about 3600 metres above sea level i think) and stayed with a local family. I´ve just finished the Inca trail, oh my god it was hard. Day 1 wasnt too bad, but it was classed as the ´easy day´and it defo wasnt easy! We camped up in the mountains which was a bit cold but not too bad. We got woken up at 2:30am cos a donkey walked into our tent tho... Then we were up at 6am to start walking. We´re in Cusco now, getting ready for the Inca trail which we start tomorrow, arghhh!!! Just bought loads of chocolate and water in prepartion! Cusco is really nice, its quite touristy with loads of bars and restaurants. We get to spend a few days here after the trek which is cool, and we can go horse riding and white water rafting. Well we started off in Lima, the downtown area was horrible but the more touristy area was really nice by the sea. For New Years eve we camped in the middle of the desert and went on dune buggies and went sand boarding, it was so cool!
