Stayed at Globestotters. After the 4 hr Greyhound bus journey we arrive in sunny Townsville. Had a 4 bed girls dorm, a tv & own shower. Lovely. We walked around the harbour & the garden of remberbrance. I still felt rough after a week so made a trip to the local medical center where they told me i had an ear infection. Antibiotics for 2 weeks Miss O'Brien!!! We had our free meals in Molly Malones & met the newlyweds we met on the flight to Sydney...

Stayed at Cape Byron Lodge. Could only stay 1 night as there was a festival happening - Splendor, & everywhere was packed. The town was buzzing. Spent a day on the beach. Did a bit of laundry!! Met the Irish guys (again!). Went to Cheeky Monkeys bar where they played some classic tunes but the drinks were so expensive. The stars were really clear to see from the beach every night. Stayed at Trekkers backpackers resort. Nice friendly hostel. Had a pizza & punch one night. Met the Irish guys from Fraser Island in the Monkey Cage bar. Had a good old dance & catch up. Went to see Hancock with them all. Love Will Smith. Visited a place called "Infinity". It was a "drug free trip" where you entered loads of different rooms. Some with mirrored walls, UV lights, laser beams, inflated floors & walls, bouncy balls...

Stayed at Next Backpackers. Lovely clean, modern & friendly. Arrived from Airlie beach after a 13 hr bus trip. Didn't sleep well. Had our tour briefing at reception at 3oc. Met the rest of the group & went food shopping and bonding!!!

Checked out of Koala's at 8.30am for the pick up. Traveled on the Whitehaven express boat. Went onto Whitehaven beach on Whitehaven Island & walked to the Hill inlet scenic lookout on Tongue Bay. Had a lovely BBQ on the beach. Emma went snorkeling on Montaray Bay. I did the glass bottom boat (again). Weather wasn't great but could have been worse I guess. Crew were great.
