In March 2009 my dad and I took my nan back across to Canada to see the family again. This would be her last trip out there but it was a good one as we got to spend a lot of the time with the family: including the latest additions.

Since I had last visited my cousin Kristina had, had 2 children and my cousin Jenn was expecting her first a few months after our visit. Both my dad and nan had visited 2 years before and met Kristina's eldest but this was my first time and to this day I still remember the look on my dads face when I was playing with Kristina's kids on the floor...It was the first time he'd ever seen me interact with kids and I think given that I don't want any of my own, he was worried how I'd handle them... Seeing his expression as I happily held onto the youngest as she climbed over me was priceless I may not have any experience with youngsters but they sure were cuties!

During our 10 day stay we didn't venture too far from my Aunt and Uncles house but when we did we had a great time. They live within walking distance of Lake Ontario so we would regularly walk down for some fresh air. It was a great experience as there was still some snow about, which being from the UK we're not too used to seeing.

One afternoon my Uncle Terry took my dad and I down to Niagara Falls and that was such a contrast to see it with parts still frozen whereas before when we visited, it was summer time. We could still see some snow around the edges of the falls and the coins that had frozen to the rocks. Not to mention the spray from the falls freezing on the ground in places!

And on another day my Aunt Lynne and my cousins, Jenn, Gillian and I went into Toronto to see Dirty Dancing! An absolute fabulous show and we then got the DVD to watch later in the week as they were horrified that I had never seen it before.... I can now safely say, I've since seen the error of my ways Though I do kind of like that I saw the show first!

We also attended a surprise baby shower for my cousin Jenn and her husband Dave during our stay which was lovely to be a part of. We all had so much fun and again we got to see my Aunts family which was great.

It may have been a relatively short trip but it was great to see the family again!
