Hi

We arrived in Sydney airport on 15th December about 2pm and decided to get a internal flight to Melbourne to spend a week there before checking into our hostel wake up on 22 December for christmas and new year.

I was so excited to finally be in Oz it was sunny outside the airport and it is so clean here especially compared to just being in smelly dirty bangkok. We had to get the shuttle bus round to departures and try and get a cheap flight to melbourne. we managed to get a cheap flight, but the flight was till 8.30pm and it was only 3pm at this point so we had 5 hours to lose in airport before we boarded which i was dreading as i was so tired but i soon perked up when i see all the lovely shops in the airport from french connection, billabong shop, bars, coffee bars and resteraunts.

So we looked all around the shops and yes i was naughty and treated myself to pair of smart french connection shorts opps, then we was all well happy as there was loads of places to eat there like subway, mcdonalds etc and not any thai food in sight whoooo..

Time went really fast in the airport and we spent most of our time chilling on the internet and working out how much we shouldn't of spent in thailand doh.....

The flight only took i think about hour maybe hour and half, We was so tired and defiantley so sick of airports by the time we got to Melbourne airport it was 10.30pm.We got a taxi to a hostel called YHA Metro Hostel in North Melbourne as that was the only hostel that had avaliablity on the net, we really wanted to stay in St Kilda in Melbourne but all the hostels were full as its christmas time. We arrived at the Metro Hostel not knowing what to expect as none of us had ever stayed in a hostel before but it was lovely had a big reception and the staff were really friendly plus we had aclean room for the four of us with 2 bunk beds, also a cafe and a kitchen were we can cook and a roof top terrace with a bbq on it and sun beds.

(16th Dec 07) Our first full day the weather wasn't all that so we caught a tram into the city as it was just 10 minutes away. The city names are the same as London here like Oford street etc, plus they have alot of the same shops as us back home like kookai, mango, miss sixty, diesel, foot locker, french connection etc. I got to have lunch in Nando's so i was happy. The city was really cool, co hard to try and stop shopping thou ha ha..... As the weather turned for the worst and it was pouring down we decided to go cinema and went to see a film called into the wild which was about a boy who graduated and his parents wanted to go get a classy job but instead he left and went traveling to alaska, it was such a good film very emotional thou i was crying like a rignt wally ha ha... i dunno if it was because the film was so sad or the fact they only sell salty pop corn and not sweet pop corn ha ha.... we was all so gutted. (liberty!!!)

(17th Dec 07) Our second day we decided to take the tram into St Kilda and see the beach and see if we could get accomadation there for our last four nights in Melbourne. It only took about 15 minutes to get there on tram, as soon as we got there we went to find a hostel lucky enough we found a hostel called Home just 5 minutes away from the beach and bars with avaliablity. The only problem was they only had one room for 3 of us and another dorm for 1 us in 4 dorm so that mean't one of sharing with random people we didn't know. We decided to take the room anyway as we had no other choice and to all take turn in staying in the mixed dorm. But instead we didn't bother and the 4 of sneakly just stayed in the 3 bed dorm together ha ha!!!

That night we went to neighbours night at the elephant & wheelbarrow pub in st kilda, but we didn't have tickets as they had sold out. But we was told if turned up early we might be able to get a ticket. After literally begging the guy on the door and Claude doing her best acting skills yet they finally let us in. We had such a good night everyone told us it would be a really funny and chessy night and it defiantley was, the place was full with loads of nutty neighbours fans screaming and going mad. We met 5 Neighbours stars which included two youngs ones called zak and i can't rember the other girls name and we also meet doctor kennedy, also fonse out of hollyoaks who's now in Neighbours and another guy who was in Neighbours and was quite drunk near the end of night ha ha.. We had all our photo's taken and all the cast were really lovely, Karl was a bit chessey, they love him out here ha ha... Fonse was my favourite he reconized my dodgey east london accent and he was so fit. That night we played a big quiz game and also dance competitions were held for prize's and karl sang who the f*** is Susan on the mic so that was funny and there was a disco at the end, so all in all we had a really good night.

(18th Dec 07) Was check out time in our first hostel (Metro), we had to be out our room by 10am and we was all hung over from Neighbours night the night before, it was such a nightmare trying get that back pack packed and ready in rush with fat headache.

Finally after getting our bags down from the room, we grabbed some cereal and toast in the cafe in the hostle to hope to make us feel better, Then we got a cab to our new hostel Home in St Kilda, after checking in the girls when pharmacy and i took one of the free bikes out from the hostel and took a ride along the beach which was really lovely its so nice it st kila parm tree's every where, nice beachy and cool cafes and bars. That day i also went to Melbourne Zoo as the girls didn't fancy it and i really wanted to see all the animals, the zool was really cool loads of animals, and it only took 30 mins on tram to get there

(19th Dec 07) This day the weather was better so we laid on the beach and even got to dip my feet in the sea, That night loads of people from our hostel were going to a local club bar called L-otel on Fitzroy Street, so we had loads of drinks with everyone at our hostel and we headed down there. L-otel was really cool was really busy and played all oasis, kooks and artic monkey music. We had areally good night got a little drunk and meet loads of people.

(20th Dec 07) This morning we all slept quite late everyday seems to get later and later ha ha... no rush for us beach bums he he... plus we was all hung over way to many amaretto & cokes for me... The sky was cloudy so we took a walk to the shops and decided to treat ourselfs to lunch out today instead of boring toast and soup....
