This morning we left Frank in a car park chilling out with some friends, whilst we went to the harbour to meet for the boat trip to the Whitsundays. Everybody seemed our age and nice people so that was a relief, part of us were worried that it might be full of the idiots that seem to spend so much time on the East Coast of Australia.
Once aboard it didn't take long to listen to the usual safety briefings from the staff, we got shown to our rooms (well, beds behind a curtain in the tiniest space in the world) and then spent some time getting to know everyone, there were 18 guests and 4 staff. The boat seemed to focus on activities and getting people in the water snorkelling and diving which was good for us.
It wasn't long at all until we were at Blue Pearl Bay, which is 1 of the smaller 74 islands of the Whitsundays. Here was where we did our first dive. We were put with the only other 3 certified divers on the boat and Charlotte went with the other guys to do 'intro dives'. The visibility was a bit poor but we did see a huuuuge Napoleon Wrasse, called Priscilla aparently, who decided to keep us company for most of the dive actually coming up to us and rubbing against us similar to a cat!
We chilled out in the hot tub after the dive before a very nice BBQd tea and the evening spent drinking wine and getting to know everybody better.
