It has been unbelievably beautiful here in San Francisco. I think that it is the most European of the American cities I have been to. It is nice to be in a place with a active modern dance community, opera, ballet, visual arts, and within sight of the ocean/mountains. Well, here I am at week seven (since the surgery) and doing better than I ever expected!!! They let me walk without crutches last week, and on Monday they let me remove the brace too! Now I can walk around normally again, drive a car, wear pants, and start getting back to my normal life. I’m so happy. It took a long time to get all the hospital paperwork and pre-surgery check-ups completed, but after three postponements I finally had my knee surgery on October 12th. I got to the hospital at 6am and didn't wake up again until 3 that afternoon. So I don't remember much, but the surgeon said that everything went beautifully and that there was less damage than he had thought at first.
