Just arrived at the Cameron highlands - a hill village place 1000+ metres above sea level where they have tea plantations and strawberry fields etc. A lot cooler up here - it's about 20•c which is refreshing. It's also raining so have just enjoyed a cream tea - lovely.

Went up Penang hill on the furnacular railway this afternoon. Was beautiful up there - you could see the island of Penang and the mainland for miles. It was also a bit cooler up there.

Had a good wander this morning around all the old colonial buildings here on georgetown. Saw the Cornwallis fort, the city hall and town hall, visited the museum and saw lots of other lovely buildings. Also went through Chinatown and little India. Glad I went this morning as it was a lot cooler.

Arrived at hotel about 6.30 in the evening. Had a very quick look around the area surrounding the hotel and dinner. Tomorrow hope to explore the town properly, and get to see Penang island from a high vantage point.
