Cindy Aserkoff's Travels
Arrived in Cologne Germany Tuesday June 24th to visit Renate and Wulf Crasselt, the parents of our next door neighbors. In an effort to keep us awake Renate and Wulf showed us the old part of cologne with a walk along the Rhine. In the heart of the city is the st Mary and st Peter gothic cathedral. Robert and I climbed 533 winding steps to get a panoramic view of the city. We also toured a perfume factory with a Tour guided by a person in period dress. We learned about how perfume is made and the significance of Farina perfume to many famous people such as Napoleon who kept perfume in his boot. Dinner was at the local pub with kolsch beer Wednesday we drove to roman ruin where u took a train to the top. Many panoramic views of the Rhine and surrounding towns. We then went to visit a castle schloss drachenfels built in the 1800s. Driving back to cologne through Bonn. Dinner was alsace pizza and gelato ice cream for dessert.
