Byron Bay
We arrived in Byron and checked in for 3 nights at backpackers inn, quite a nice hostel except having to get a loan to pay to use wifi!!!! We went out for a look around and booked our skydive for the following morning! We decided sensibly to have a quiet night and just go out for a meal and an early Ish night so we were both ready for the skydive. So the morning came and we were picked up at 9.30 and taken to the spot where we signed a million forms before taking to the sky! Me and lew were the last to jump out and seeing people fall out of a plane was slightly weird but as we edged towards the door and looked over the edge it looked like we were so far away it didn't feel real! As wokka (guy I was strapped to with my life) threw us out it was an amazing feeling to be free and falling! When the parachute deployed it really kicked in why people do it for a living... The views were amazing!! We were lucky and had a clear sunny day and you could see for miles! We landed safely and bought the DVD to show everyone! That evening our German friends Jil, Janina, Seb, Max and Liza that we had met on our Fraser Island tour all turned up at our hostel so we all had a decent night out! The day after we chilled on the beach and played footie with a few people then had some dinner and a chilled evening in! Realistically we should have left for Sydney that night but instead had another day to use up which ideally could of been used back in Brisbane!! But we spent the day hiking to a lighthouse on the most easterly point in Australia! Lots of steep uphill walking involved which didn't go down too well!! But a great view of the sea and Byron too! After that we went for a few beers and some food while we waited for our 13 hour coach trip to Sydney for the last leg of our Australia tour!
