Our first annual grandkid/grandparent getaway was a huge success. Sarah (Lily 4-1/2 & Isaac 1-1/2) came from Connecticut and Sami (Hannah 5 & JJ 3) came from New York and met us in Hershey, PA. We stay at our Bluegreen Resort. Each mom got their own private bedroom and bathroom.

Day 1 (Wed., Aug. 14): We all arrived between 4-6pm. The 4 grandkids played on the playground. We all unpacked and got settled in. Ordered pizzas and salads / drank some beer & wine. About 7:30pm we got our swimsuits on and hit the indoor swimming pool. There was a little kiddie pool in there as well. Sarah took her 2 back up to the room for bed while we 5 checked out the heated outdoor pool for another hour. HOT TUB time out there as well!
Day 2 (Thurs., Aug. 15): Chuck got up early and went grocery shopping with Lily & Isaac to get some breakfast foods. Everyone ate then off to the Hershey Zoo for the day. Perfect weather and not too crowded. Afterwards, we all went swimming while Sami & Sarah went shopping. Sami made us an amazing BBQ dinner & then she joined us all for more swimming after dinner. The kids played on the playground, watched the trains go by, then up to bed for everyone.
Day 3 (Fri. Aug 16): Today was Hershey World! The kids got to see how chocolate is made, make their own candy bars, take a ride on the indoor factory exhibit, then back to the hotel for more swimming and puzzles. Sarah cooked us up an awesome spaghetti dinner. Then we all hit the outdoor swimming pool / hot tubbed again til very late. Sarah stayed up stairs with sleeping Isaac and chatted with Jaime via Skype.
Day 4 (Sat. Aug 17): Cheryl made everyone a BIG hearty breakfast, then it was time to pack up and head out. We all agreed to drive 1 hr. away to Lancaster, PA (Amish Country) and check out the little village in town. There were shops, petting zoo, music and lunch awaiting. We had 3 cars in our caravan. We took the grand-daughters in our car. Check out the Lancaster Blog for more info on this day trip!
