Kentucky Horse Park Campground - Stop 1
Taking the RV on it's 1st long distance adventure. Left White Lake, Michigan (home) at 10:30AM. TEMP: 24 degrees, snow on the ground for a month already. Chuck drove the 6 hours to Lexington, KY for our first stop. Arrived just at dusk and quickly set up camp. Takes about an hour to open it up, lock it down, hook up power, fill up water, etc. TEMP 62-48 degrees. MUCH BETTER. Staying here 3 nights for R&R before heading south even more to Tennessee for a month.
Highlights of our stay here ...
Bonfire every night while sipping adult beverages, Southern Lights (hundreds of Christmas light displays you drive through) right on the premises so we walked it, very beautiful. Kentucky Old Time Theatre to see Bohemian Rhapsody, drinks at the Bluegrass Tavern (Maker's Mark promo night). Cookies, drink specials, power went out for 5 minutes, rainstorm shot by for 20 minutes. Hot showers, laundry, grocery shopping and reading. Very relaxing stay and getting warmer everyday.
