This is part 3 of 3 cities we stayed at during this vacation:
Day 6: Friday, Feb. 13 - Slept in til 9am at Surfside Solara (near Miami). Ate boiled eggs & muffins, then cleaned up and put all our suitcases in our car. We left our car parked at the resort, checked out and hopped a city bus for the International Boat Show in Miami. We walked around with the rich folks and boarded several million $$ yachts. They are unbelievable! Stayed about 2 hours, then hopped the bus back to our resort, picked up our car and off we went to Marathon, FL (in the Keys). It's a 2-1/2 hour drive. There are 42 bridges connecting the 43 islands.
We drove along that causeway stopping for a bathroom break & McDs right on the waterfront. When we hit Key Largo, we stopped at the Caribbean Club (where the movie was filmed) for a quick beer and a few photos. Back on the road and arrived at Bluegreen Resort named: The Hammock at Marathon about 5pm.

Got checked into the room, unpacked and went out to dinner across the street at Castaways. Very chilly and breezy night out. This indoor & outdoor restaurant had good seafood, music and cocktails. Afterwards, back to our room for a cigar and cocktail on the balcony.
Day 7: Saturday, Feb. 14 - Last day/night of our vacation. Happy Valentine's Day. We drove down to Key West (about 1 hour away). Parked our car, walked around the island, used our "hop on/hop off" stickers from St. Augustine trip for the tour busses and were able to ride free here in Key West. Took the tour of the whole island, then stopped for lunch at Jack Flats for a sandwich and beer. Later over to Kermits Key Lime Pie place for dessert.
Drove back to the resort to swim and hot tub on our last night of warmth. Back at the room we did some laundry, Chuck went to bed early because he's driving us back to Ft. Lauderdale at 3am tomorrow morning. YIKES
Day 8: Sunday, Feb. 15 - Packed up, grabbed coffee, checked out and on the road before 3am. Drove to our car rental place "Fox" about 3 hours away in Ft. Lauderdale, took the shuttle to the airport and was on the plane at 7am for a non-stop flight home (3 hours).
When we left Florida it was 67 degrees and when we arrived in Michigan it was -7 degrees. Steve and Kerry picked us up at the airport in our car at 10am and we treated them to breakfast at Sami's Koney Island. Then we dropped them off at their house and home we went. Pulled up in the driveway at 1pm.
