Bonjour!
Arrived on time after our two flights from Melbourne.
First flight was 14.5 hours to Doha. This was followed by a 2 hour stop over and then another 7.5 flight to Paris.
Qatar was great... highly recommend them.. on time, great and friendly staff and fantastic service.
After arriving in Paris we caught the terminal train around to terminal 2 where we met up with Fran and waited for our driver to take us to Rambouillet.
The drive was just over an hour and the exciting news was that the Tour de France was going through the local village...
We had a few detours to navigate prior to arriving at our accommodation however we eventually arrived... our driver was fantastic and very patient!
We quickly changed - had time for a quick beer- and walked for about 20 minutes to wait for the Tour de France to ride past us...one of my sporting highlights....
We meet our fellow travellers and it was time to wait for the riders.
After watching the riders go past us it was back to the chateau and get ready for dinner.
It was just a 10 minute stroll down the road and we all had a great dinner... sitting outside until after 9.30pm having local cuisine in a French village..welcome to France!
Back to the house for a night cap and off to bed... tired but not exhausted considering the travel and our first day here.
