Hi
I thought I would do a little update while I wait for Herman to shower but it has taken me 25 mins to get this far as it is dial up internet soooo ssssllllooooowww!
Yesterday we planned to see Lenin but aparantly he is busy! (It is closed until April, fyi Lenin's wife did not want him to be embalmed but the state did it anyway) we went to the Kremlin instead and it is really expensive and you dont get to see much either. But is was interesting the architecture and artwork is incredible.
Another interesting fact for you, if you step off the pavement the police blow there whistle at you and wave there batton!!
We made our way back through the Red square trying to spot the pick pockets (!) we took some nice pictures (which we will try to upload tomorrow on a faster connection) had some late lunch early dinner to warm up although it was 5' much better than the -7' when we arrived in Moscow.
We managed to get tickets to The Bolshoi Theatre to see Don Quixote, it was really amazing. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the ballet, seeing as the most cultural thing I do is visit Twickers for the rugby, oh and I did see The Lion King and of course New Kids on the Block in concert for my birthday!
The guys next to Herman fell asleep and the guys on my side left after the 2nd interval!
I did feel a little bit underdressed as most people where in James Bond suits and evening dresses, but we where in the cheap seats so to hell with it enjoy the evening!
When we came out it was snowing and we decided to take some more photos of the red square but this time at night, when we got to the arch entrance we where stopped by the police and asked for our passports - they really check them although he was very friendly. When we came out we went to the memorial for the unknown soldier to see of they guard it all night (they don't!) and we got asked again for our passports!
By now it was 11.30 the latest we have been out so far - so sad! as the metro closes at 12 we went home!
Sorry if this sounds more like a diary than a interesting blog for you all and for any spelling errors there is only russian spell check on here!
Bye for now.
