I arrived in sunny Perth early in the morning, to a beautiful day. I took the airport bus to my hostel where I am staying in an 18 bed dorm room. It's not quite a bad as you might think but I do try to spend as much time as possible out of the room, it is just for sleeping.
Perth has a free bus network in the city centre so during my first venture to the city I make the most of this service and ride around as if it was a tourist bus. The city centre is quite small but it is really pleasant to wander around. I find it a little like the northern cities of England, Sheffield or Leeds. On other days I head off to Kings Park a beautiful park that overlooks the city and the river.
I head out to a pub for a Meet Up on the Thursday and meet lots of nice local people, it is great to meet Australians and people that are not living in hostels. We have a few drinks and then Di and Susie mention they are off to Ceroc dancing and would I like to join, well why not… So we head off and it is the most fun I have had in ages. We learn some dance moves together with everybody, then there is some social dancing, a beginners class and more social dancing. Everybody was so friendly and having such a good time.
On my last day before leaving Perth to head to Rockingham I start to sort myself out for working in Australia. So I get my bank account opened, apply for my tax number and start to sort my cv. Although now I am thinking about actually working, I really have no idea what I will want to be doing, so who knows where I will end up.
