Day 12 ... lazy morning. Trip to Buda Castle in the afternoon. Heroes Square and the thermal baths at Szechenyi in the early evening. Corvinteto rooftop bar in the evening.

Day 11... arrived into Budapest at 10am from Krakow. The night train was an experience. 6 people in each compartment. 3 level bunk beds. Checked in at the hostel. Worst hostel so far. Locations ok but pretty dire conditions. Would not recommend! Then off to Sziget island for Sziget festival. Saw British Sea Power. Met Hannah and Theo, saw Skunk Anansie. Went on the 'Sky Bar' which is s bar suspended 50m in the air! Saw The Deftones and The Prodigy. Got in at sunr...

Day 10 ... Auschwitz today. Not a lot to explain really. Very real. Very big. What's left is virtually untouched and left as it was. Not nice, but interesting and important. Night train to Budapest this evening. Festival tomorrow.

Day 9 ... Visited Krakow town square with Hannah and Theo. The town centre has a 'Cloth Market' which sells local hand-made gifts and clothes. In the afternoon went to Wawel Castle. Wawel Castle is a big castle on top of a hill that overlooks Krakow town. Big grounds and open courtyards, the buildings are like churches inside. Came back into town through the old Jewish district of the town. Had dinner, early night. Auschwitz tomorrow. Leaving Krakow tomorrow eve...

Day 8 ... Long, long train journey from Berlin to Krakow. German trains are fast and efficient... until they leave Germany, then they take their time! Befriended fellow travellers Hannah and Theo on the journey, taught them how to play Blackjack... I think that's my purpose in life, to travel the world and teach new people how to play Blackjack! The three of us went for dinner at a really nice pizzeria. 3 course meal and 2 beers came to 55Zloty which is £14/15!
