And so we came to our last day in Fiji. Just like that it's one country ticked off our list already! For a country that we weren't even considering going to at first, we are going to take away some of the best experiences and memories.
Yesterday we explored a different part of the main island. We took a long bus journey down to the south coast. About as far away as portsmouth, but very different. And a lot better! (sorry shez). From there we got on a motorised canoe down a beautiful river, taking us to a traditional fijian village where we were given a tour. The tour included our 3rd coconut tree demonstration in 5 days! At least we can say we're experts now and can bring back our knowledge for all those coconut trees in England..........
After another buffet for lunch, it was back on the canoes for the best bit of the day. The guides took us right up to one of Fiji's biggest waterfalls, to the main pool at the bottom. It was one of the most amazing sights so far. Swimming underneath it was also pretty damn awesome! It was freezing yet so refreshing. I'm glad to say I went under it...if only at the edges. The spray was like a strong wind when you stood in front of it so it would of been quite something to stand right underneath it! After that it was back up river for some bamboo rafting. It was a great example of "fiji time". Everywhere we went in Fiji all we heard was "fiji time", 'fiji time". It's all about getting there when you get there, "fast or slow, just go with the flow". They have such a relaxed culture.
Here in New Zealnd now, landed this morning. Auckland get ready!
