OK, so we're coming to then end of the Chiang Mai bit now - just waiting for our Vietnam visas to turn up on Friday & we're out of here. It's been a really nice change to the madness of Bangkok. We've spent a lot of time just wandering around and finding the Irish bars.... Sadly they had the cricket on so I just had to stop & watch for a bit (they also had red wine so I didn't mind - Em). It's pretty quiet at the moment because it's rainy season so there aren't too many backpackers around, still enough to keep it interesting though. Went on a really good day trek yesterday, checking out some Thai villagey stuff, and the wildlife. Then took a dip in the waterfall, on my own though cos everyone else was laughing at my pasty white flesh & the fact that the current was a bit strong...!! (i got wet up to my knees!!! - em). Then a spot of lunch, followed by Elephant trekking, or rather stopping until we gave him another banana(really cool) and floating down the river on a bamboo raft (being overtaken by the biggest Elephant *%^$ you've ever seen!). Check out the photos!! We're off to check out the apparently famous night market tonight & maybe pick up a bargain or two (and a mossie net so my feet don't look like they have chickenpox...).
