First day off and time to get out and about today and I was really glad to be able to see some sights especially as we are in the capital. We headed down on the tram which took about 8mins and started by taking in the view. It's a very old town and the buildings are quite characteristic. We got some shots and then headed down to see the bears!! Bern has had bears for hundreds of years and now they are a big thing here there are bear sculptures, signs with bears on fountains with bears on, you get the idea!! The bears now have a big park which can be viewed from all around and the they are quite close to you. There are two adults and two cubs and got some great pics but wish Caroline could have seen them as she loves bears!!
After this we looked around the shops, Bern has the longest undercover shopping arcade in Europe covering 4 miles altogether, not that you can afford anything here, Switzerland is stupidly expensive but no harm in window shopping. They had a market on aswell which was good for a nose.
After lunch and a bit more of a wander Stu headed back to the hotel and I decided to stay on. The shops were a bit boring without a few grand so headed over the museum. It had an Albert Einstein exhibition on which was good to see (jealous now aren't you!!!!) along with usual Egypt, medieval stuff that museums have. Finished up here quick look round the Munster cathedral and back to the hotel as needed to edit some pics for work.
We then headed to dinner, grilled perch and tiger prawns for me tonight more beer and wine then back to the room for an earlyish night as big day tommorrow, photographing all day then 7 hour drive back to Holland!!!
