It needed some time to sink in, but yes! we're in Japan! After a long plane journey with a stopover in Beijing, we arrived in Tokyo in their late evening. We decided to catch a bus closer to our hotel and then walk. Well... technically. It was around midnight and we were exhausted so there came a taxi to our rescue. Next morning we were clearly victims of the jetlag. (Chris says: not me, Magda was! - pff, soldier!) Luckily, we managed to get ourselves out of bed pretty early so we wouldn't lose any time in Tokyo. We decided to stroll down to the Imperial Palace and get breakfast on the way. - The little bakery was a great find! It struck us how quiet the streets were. Nihombashi is a big bussiness area, however life seems to go pretty slowly there, especially in the morning hours. When we finally reached the Imperial Gardens, we were greeted by closed gates. - The grounds are only open on certain days of the week. Still, we had a nice walk around with some good views. Unusual shaped trees, water, carp fish and gigantic skyscrapers in the background. Such a striking contrast. Afterwards, we headed to Shibuya. Let's go on a tube! - The station was meant to be pretty close. In theory, we had a bit of a rainy walk before we found it. The rain in Japan can actually be quite pleasant at times, especially as the weather is really warm and humid even in the autumn. The tube journey went in a flash and we arrived at crazy Shibuya! Neons, sounds, people and lights coming from every direction. Think walking through the Shibuya crossing was the first time we really felt that we are in Tokyo. As we got quite peckish, we popped to a little fast food restaurant. Saying fast food doesn't really do it justice, as I reckon it was one of the best ones I ever had. Must admit, it won't be easy to save up on food, as Japanese meals are delicious!! Ordering food and using chop sticks was a good laugh. We watched other people ordering and eating (very secretly ;)) and tried to do more or less the same. - Obviously exchanging beautiful Japanese language with some lame gestures and adding lots of bowing! Actually, we feel very self-conscious here and are a little apprehensive of committing any cultural faux-pas. Japanese people are extremely kind and helpful, though. Anyway, our next destination was Meji-jingu shrine. - Let's walk! Decision was made and two specials ended up visiting the wrong shrine. By the time we reached the main one, it was nearly closing time so we rushed through but still managed to take some photos and had a good look around. We went through Tikas***a Market on the way back which is like the shopping heaven for teenagers. Very colourful, pink and girly, with music filling every corner. Seems like Tokyo wakes up at night. (Izokami next time?) To close the day, we did few snaps of rainy Shibuya at night and then neon lights near our hotel. It's been only a day and I'm falling in love with the place. Off to collect the camper tomorrow and drive for some more adventures!

Kusiol KONNICHIWA Madziaaaaaaa and Chris, it so heartwarming to read about the places I came to love after my visit there in Tokyo. I feel so wistful now it hurts :D And it's obviously a joke that Chris didn't feel jetlagged - not possible! Tbh I didn't believe that such thing exists until my April journey. It. Is. Horrible! D: You have to try ramen at one of the family bussiness-get a ticket before eating places near a station - any station, really. You won't regret it! :3 Waiting for the next post - IMPATIENTLY~ Lots of love, dears!
