VEGAS. Wohoo I cant believe ive finally arrived in sin city. The first thing I notice? Heat, humidity and sunshine…I love it! San Fran was a bit too cold for my likings but I can already tell L.V. will do me just fine. The hotel is in the perfect location, right in the centre of the strip and surrounded by thousands of bright lights and colours. Despite having to wait for what seemed like hours to check in, we were able to get into our room by 2pm and go downstairs to a resturaunt for lunch. Yes the hotel has tonnes of shops, resturarunts and don't even get my started on the pokey machines. There are millions. But its all a part of the vegas atmosphere that I love. We decided to catch the monorail from the beginning of the strip to the end just to see where all the hotels are so we have an idea of where we are going and where everything is. At the south end of the strip we came to the MGM grand and New York New York hotel…both amazing and huge. Nana and I decided to go on a little adventure in the New York New York hotel which had an empire state building, statue of liberty and brooklyn bridge (there is also the paris hotel right next to ours which has an eiffel tower...why go to paris when you can come to vegas and have it all!?). We eventually came to a rollercoaster that was pretty incredible. It was actually amazing how we were on a rollar coaster inside a hotel. When we got out we realised we had actually spent hours in the hotel and it was dark outside (time seems to fly in America). The stip looked beautiful. It was all lit up with thousands of lights and everything held up to the expectations I had for this wonderful city.
For some strange reason, at 7pm poppa asked what i wanted for dinner and all i had in mind was a steak. So we went to what was described as the 'home of the best steaks on the strip'. Despite the pricy menu, it was by far the best steak I have ever eaten and about an inch thick. Delish! I was comepletely satisfied. As we slowly made our way back to our hotel, we took our time and really took in the amazing views and carefree atmosphere. When we got back I realised our room has an incredible view. The wall is glass complete with pink drappes which meant we could see a little piece of what the strip has to offer. (everything in our hotel is pink…pink curtains, pink bed sheets, pink lights…all pink. And as its my favourite colour, im not complaining!)
So far, im loving vegas.
