Yesterday, at around noon we arrived in Zakopane, Poland. Zakopane is a little ski town in the mountains. It has a lot of little lodge homes and markets.
It was a very beautiful and charming place, but unfortunately there was not much to do.
The little town is really nothing but a tourist trap. The downtown square had many little market stands selling smoked cheese and souvenirs. The main attraction in the town is a tram ride that brings you up a mountain where there are more little shops.
We took the tram up the mountain and walked down. The walk down was quite nice and provided some amazing mountain views.
Afterwards, we went back to our hotel - which was conveniently located across the road from an indoor water park. We went to the water park and rode some water slides.
The day ended with a group dinner at a traditional polish restaurant. The food was very good and there was a traditional band playing music.
Now we are off to Hungary. We just made a pitstop is Slovakia for lunch. Slovakia is a beautiful country, lots of forests and mountains along the drive.
