Well here we are on our first stop......Hawaii. Flight time from Sydney was 9 hours.....have had worse flights. Plane pretty much full and we were all well behaved. Quantas club visits for the first time courtesy of the Pryces....thanks Doc and Deko!! Managed a quick catch up with the girls in brisbane before we left which was lovely. Met up with Humphreys in Brisbane and Mark and Louise in Sydney.....we were then the traveling party of 8. Arrived 9am in Honolu...

3 more sleeps!! My dining room table looks like a bomb site. I have found this is the best place to control the chaos of packing. I have successfully pulled out every item of clothing I own and now am pondering over what to pack. (I was packed completely last weekend....even had a little boast to Doccie that "I was done and wasn't looking at it again". Decided I would look at everything again.... Less is more, right? How exciting. Today I have printed off our boarding pass for the Volendam which will take us cruising through Alaska. Excited much! Have spent a little while this afternoon drooling over our Staterooms which have a verandah so I can have my morning coffee looking at the ice and wildlife. Suspect that evenings on my verandah will include sightings of all sorts of things......particularly after a few too many drinks with my fellow travellers. 10 days to go............

Had a lovely phone call last night from and old friend from Jandowae. What a surprise to hear that her and husband are also travelling to Canada in a couple of weeks. God, what a small world. Haven't seen them for years and now it appears we will catch up at the Calgary Stampede....unbelievable. Can't wait to see you, Barry and Heather.
