It was a beautiful trip in the coach today. We travelled past some of most beautiful and rugged lakes and mountains. Described as their farming country we finally saw cattle grazing and in feedlots. They irrigate their paddocks and alot seem to bale hay. The change in the scenery between Sun Peaks and Whistler was quite remarkable. It was a very steep ride up a winding road, the closer we got you could still see the snow on the peaks. Arrived in Whistler around 3.00pm. Derek, Louise and David took to the skies in a seaplane trip which by all accounts sounded fantastic. The rest of us hit Whistler shopping precinct. What can I say, just fantastic. Young staff everywhere and competition is fierce for the tourist dollar. We were expecting very expensive prices but found a grill for dinner with reasonable prices and 4.75 drinks all day....so that is where we dined. A mixed meal of burgers, pasta and pizza. Whistler is one of Canada s newest mountain resort and home to the 2010 winter Olympics. It is a resort that you can ski or snow board all year around.
