Friday 11th September
Up early for breakfast - there was a Rhino in our camp grounds..........
Our journey today takes us to Graskop which is the start of the Panorama Route and includes Gods Window, the Pinnacle and Bourke's Luck Potholes at Blyde River Canyon. Then onto our overnight stay at Boma in the Bush.
Gods Window
Situated on the Drakensberg escarpment in Mpumalanga with magnificent views, canyons, rock formations and waterfalls. God's Window is an area of breathtaking scenery. Unfortunately when we arrived the viewing point was fogged in and we could only see a few feet in front of us.
Blyde River Canyon
It has some of the deepest precipitious cliffs of any canyon on the planet. It is the second largest canyon in Africa, after the Fish River Canyon, and is known as one of the great wonders of nature on the continent.
Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the "Three Rondavels" huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the houses or huts of the indigenous people, known as rondavels.
