Another early start this morning! We started our day with 4 trishaws which took us the 20minute journey to Mahamuni Paya. We woke at 3am and got a taxi to the airport. Our flight only took an hour so we were at our hotel, Haven Inn by 9am for breakfast. We left Bangkok by bus at 7pm, destination Vientiane, Laos. Our bus broke down on a major road in outer bangkok, we were beginning to think we were bad luck! The driver sorted the problem luckily and we were back on the road just 1 hour behind. We arrived the following day and spent some time exploring the town and getting our bearings. Thursday 5th July We were in our hotel reception at 6am today for our bus to Siem Reap, Cambodia. We reached Poipet which is the border town at about midday and once on the Cambodian side took a short ride to the tourist bus station. It started to rain and we had to wade through ankle deep water! Monday 2nd July We visited Wat Pho today, home of the largest reclining Buddha and biggest collection of Buddha images in Thailand. The grounds are full of beautiful buildings and sculptures, waterfalls and small gardens. The reclining Buddha is 46m long and 15m high and represents Buddha's death passing into Nirvana.
