San Francisco was a hub-stop (we had to fly through here to get to LA) so we decided to stop for a couple of nights and check out the city. If you search on the internet there are a handful of things you can do here including Golden Bridge, Alcatraz prison and Pier 39 and the famous crab restaurants at the Fishermans Wharf . The rest is just a normal town of the west coast known for its good weather gay parades. So we arrived in the afternoon and we did all that (excluding the parade as there was none going on).
The bridge was nice but all the photos you have seen are taken from a helicopter as there is nowhere to get a nice view of the whole bridge in a nice angle.
Then we visited Muir Woods Park, a forest with humongous trees that lived there for centuries.
Finally we did a tour to the Alcatraz island prison. We got an audio headset where the voices of former prison guards and prisoners guided us through the Alcatraz everyday life, escape attempts and riots. That was probably the best tour we had compared to any other attraction in this trip.
There was extra time so we rented a car and drove south to Cupertino (Apple headquarters). There are no visitors allowed in the buildings but there is a one-of-a-kind apple store selling exclusively apple merchandising (yes I got the hat, the t-shirt, the key ring, and everything with the apple logo). Now along with the apple bag, laptop and the special edition apple socks, I can dress and go to work with EVERYTHING APPLE. How geeky, sad, marketing trapped, expensive and hollow is that... but how cool at the same time!!!
