Hello there, I have quite a lot to catch up on.
So basically 48 hours ago, we left with some people we'd met in the hostel to go to the Blue Mountains! You catch a train out there which takes about 2 hours. We had the most hilarious and vicious game of Irish snap I've ever played in my life, one of the guys actually had a bleeding hand! So funny.
When we started to get closer out we realised that it was going to be a really unsuccessful trip because it was sooooo foggy, raining and cold. But there was a lot of us and we made it entertaining so it didn't matter. We walked out to where the Three Sisters (three famous rocks) should have been about 100 metres in front of us, but we literally couldn't see more than about 8 metres in front of us! So that didn't happen! On the way back we stopped on this undercover outdoor seating and just chatted and looked at the crazy photos we took on the walk.
We walked back into the town, had a look around and then, like true brits we went to the pub, played pool and drank wine. - It was valentine's day after all!!
When the others left Marie and I went back to our hostel and warmed up - put socks and hoody on and everything. Oh and Lu, you'll be glad to know, I used the walking boots - finally. Then Maz and I got dressed up and went out for dinner for the first time we've been here. It was delicious and it was also a BYO wine restaurant which was amazing. I had a lentil, feta and pumpkin pie which was the best pie I've ever had and Maz had kangaroo burger. We shared them both and then had chocolate cake to share for dessert, we both loved it all :)
The second day we still couldn't see anything much but we decided to soldier on all the same. We went to Leura Falls and Leura Cascades which we could see and they were beautiful. Despite the pissing rain that we were walking - sorry for the language but it's the only way to describe it. went for a bushwalk and then went back to the town to catch an earlier train back than planned. Got a bit delayed on the way back and it ended up taking 4 hours instead of 2 but it didnt matter.
Then we got back, changed and caught a train out to see Grace at Bondi Junction. Marie, Grace, Nat and I went to the cinema to see "No Strings Attached" It was so funny and happy and sad. Such a good chick flick and then afterwards we went out for a drink. Got back to the hostel at about 1 and everyone was having drinks outside, we ended up staying up til 6.45am and then I just decided that there was no point in going to sleep so I went for a walk to the Opera House, got back, showered and now I'm having brekky and getting excited about the prospect of seeing Nana, Auntie Deb, Uncle Chris, Anne Marie today! very happy :D
So anyway, I'm off now, to stay awake for the rest of the day, I hope/
Speak to you all soon :) only a week left now :/
