I planned to have a lie in today as I was still trying to catch up with the sleep I lost during my flight. Sadly though it didn't really happen as I was woken up by the rising temperature of my room. But 8:15am was good enough so I slowly got showered and dressed, then cooked my porridge ready for my walk. I even had a cup of tea- all very exciting!
As I was about to leave a German lad spotted me dressed like I was about to climb the Himalayas - I did get round to explaining that was the week before- and decided to tag along. At first I was very sceptical, I didn't want someone to slow me down, so threw in a few lines like, "I'm going to be about seven hours" and "I'm leaving in about 20mins" to try and deter him, but fair play to the lad he stuck in there. 20 minutes later we were on our way to the ferry!
I was glad really that I had someone with me, not just as someone to talk to but also as a second opinion on the distance we should go and a few directions really. It turned out to be a really good day. We completed a 8 hour 18km walk to Wattamolla and back in 5 hours 40. We even had time to do a bit of rock climbing to take some really good photos. My packed lunch was divine and on the way back we even stopped for an ice cream!
We got back quite late so I had a shower and quick change before boiling my pasta and cooking up the same pasta, cheese and meat combo I had last night. My variation this time was slicing the meat instead of cubing it - surprisingly, it improved my meal!
