We are only going to write 1 entry for our time in Durban - it was nice to have a fairly relaxing week after being so busy in Dubai and St Lucia.
What we got up to:
We went to the driving range for the first time for both of us!! It was called Emberton (surprising how far we have travelled just to visit Emberton!) and it's safe to say Emily wasn't very good - out of about 100 balls she only managed to hit about 10 half decent!
Went to Ushaka Marine World - home to the largest water slide in Africa (up to 6 storeys high with an almost vertical drop) and the biggest aquarium in the Southern Hemisphere. Have to say after Dubai aquarium nothing could compare and we got pretty bored of looking at fish (after a while they all look the same), but we enjoyed the day in the waterpark - bringing out the children in us :). First stop was the tallest slide - decided to just go straight to the top and do it first before Emily had time to dwell on it. Was really fun but ended in having a painful bottom! Followed by all the other slides.
Enjoyed a Spurs lunch in The Pavilion shopping centre - Curt having of corse the biggest thing on the menu - the Hunga Busta burger.
On Sunday 28th September it was Grandads 76th Birthday!! So we spent the day with the family and friends, having a lovely dinner made by Nanny and of corse drinking! Was lovely to see the family after so many years and catch up with everyone.
Uncle Ashley lives on a game reserve - Phezulu, so spent a few days there enjoying the stunning views and countless zebra and wildebeest roaming around the garden - as well as using the computer so we could access the blog to update it etc.
Went into Umhlanga to visit The Breakers and The Cabanas - hotel situated on the beach where Curtis had numerous family holidays. Was nice to reminisce on old memories and see how the places had changed over the years. Decided to take advantage of the beautiful coast line, walking all the way to the light house and then back, stopping for a well deserved ice cream before relaxing for a bit on the beach.
On our last day we went to the Moses Mabhida Stadium - one of many built for the football World Cup - to go on the sky car which went to the top of the stadium where you step out onto a platform for spectacular views over Durban city.
Really enjoyed our stay in Durban and are very grateful to Nanny and Grandad for letting us stay with you and Dad for taking us around the city :).
Next stop Cape Town!
