I'm back in London land! After a steep £100 train venture from York and once again getting lost (in my hotel this time), I am back, and bathed, and ready to eat a small feast at the most fantastic Greek restaurant opposite the hotel.
Aubergines, yeah!
The rest of my day in York, yesterday, was wonderful. I went for a few rounds on the York wheel, 60m high from memory, and continued sightseeing in the rain. I cannot recall the names of all the places at the moment, which I'll let pass, feeling sure that eventually I'll end up there again. I missed out on seeing the castle, the Viking show and the haunted tour, so for those reasons alone, I feel that a return trip is in order.
It didn't stop raining for the duration of the evening, and I'll not stay at a hostel on future trips, but despite these setbacks, York remains my favourite so far.
The girls arrive tomorrow, which I'm excited for. As fantastic it has been, backpacking myself up England by my lonesome, I've missed familiar company, and conversation that goes beyond small talk.
Anyway, all this calm an quiet has born a desire to get tremendously drunk and commit petty crimes abroad. And the sooner the girls arrive in the motherland, the sooner Contiki begins and I can drink myself to death.
