OMG! this place is AMAZING! We arrived yesturday afternoon about 3ish after a 5 hour drive up north. But it was soooooo worth it. We're staying in a beach house which is literally on the beach. It's so beautiful. The beach is named the 90 mile beach but we're told it's more like 90km. The surf is awesome. So here i am once again in boring old Auckland! Luckily only for one more night as we're being picked up tomorrow morning for surf camp :D Seemed to have burnt myself even more, despite sitting in the shade! That stupid hole in the ozon layer seems to be targeting me ): Just checked into our dorm in Base. Again it's a mixed gender dorm (we're travelling on the cheap!!) Also managed to get some laundry done...and had a very respectable and healthy meal at maccy ...

I spend one day in the sun and have the most patchiest burns you can possibly think of...but who am i to complain. It's scorching hot and clear blue skies! I feel sorry for you guys back in england! Arrived at our hostel midday yesturday. We're sharing an 8 bed dorm consisting of 7 girls and an irish! he seems alryt though. Just had an EPIc breakfast at the lush hotel ruth's dad booked us in. Honestly the resturant looks like something Gorden Ramsey would have...it's got this fire pit thing and water features. I feel like an upper class backpacker. and the lift is glass which makes you feel a little sick when going down seeing as we're on the 20th floor! Alas, we've just booked in and sorted out a few nights in a hostel so after tomorrow we will offically be travelling on the cheap...
