We landed in Fiji early in the morning and headed straight to our hostel. Man City were playing so we spent a couple of hours watching the match whilst we waited for our room. It was already swelteringly hot and I realised that wearing a cast on the islands (with no access to medical help for a week) was going to be very uncomfortable. Fortunately Rob's friend James (who by this point we had sent some wine for being so helpful) said I could just use my splint as long as I left it on full time. We therefore thought we'd go to Nadi hospital whilst we waited to get the cast taken off.
As usual anything to do with my arms takes a full day to do, as they couldn't cut fibreglass at Nadi hospital we ended up trekking to another in Lautoka, where we ended up waiting for ages. They don't have fibreglass there either, so it took 45 painful minutes to cut, saw, tear and eventually yank it off, with Rob ending up doing most of the work! We had quite a crowd watching.
Eventually we made it back to Nadi, where as usual most of the day was gone. Hopefully the last arm related hospital day!
