Hey guys!
Managed to find an internet cafe so thought we'd update you on everything we got up to in Cape Town...
Spencer had a great birthday. We went to up Table Mountain in the day which was fantastic. The views were amazing as you could pretty much see the whole of Cape Town (pictures soon we promise). Then we had some great food at the Fat Cactus (Mexican...if you couldn't guess) and a great night in the hostel. There was a hat party so the pictures are awesome. We met two swedish lads that night and ended up going out on Long Street with them. Found two awesome places for live music and lets just say we had a late one.
Following that day Cape Town just got better and better. We went to the Waterfront which was a little too westernised and pretty much like home but there was a gig on in the centre which was really good. That night we ate at a restaurant called Mamma Africa. We had a platter of Crocodile, Springbok, Kudu, Ostrich and Game Sausage. It was all great but the Springbok was easily our favourite. After the meal there was live entertainment with an African Pavarotti!? and some other great music. Another night we won't forget too soon!
We then went to Camps Bay which is a really nice beach and had a bit of a relax. That night we found an awesome sports bar called Rafikis and watched United (not missed a game yet!!). Had pizza and an early night after that ready for a very busy day.
The busy day being a day of wine and cheese tasting from 8.30am! We tried almost 40 wines and several cheeses. Spencer is now a big fan of wine and fruity cheese! On the trip was a big group of Norweigians who we partied on with for the rest of the night. Easily up there as the best day in Cape Town.
Following the wine tasting day we had a bit of a quiet one to recover and had a nice walk around the markets off Long Steet. They are amazing and we got some cool bits. The night we had a BBQ at the hostel and watched United in our favourite bar followed by some drinks with the guys from the hostel later.
The next day was our last full day in Cape Town before the Safari! We went on a bus tour around Cape Town to see a little further a field. That was incredible and amonst many things we visited seal island and caught the sun on Hout Bay. We finished that off with a fantastic Mars Bar milkshake in Mr Picwicks and then another great African meal in Nyonis Kraal followed by a night of Jazz!
That's us pretty much up-to-date before the Safari. We have a group meeting at 6pm today in Sassveld Lodge where we will be getting to know our group and staying for the night. I'm sure you can tell from all the detail that we have done loads and we love Cape Town!!!
Miss you all x
