Hi everyone,
Sorry about the two updates at once, we were just so busy in Cape Town (as im sure you have seen from Spence's update) and have basically been in the middle of nowhere since the safari started.
We set off in our massive truck on the 9th April, the whole group is pretty much made up of Aussies and English give or take a few Europeans. We spent the first night in northern South Africa in a beautiful vineyard, where we did some wine tasting and watched the full moon rise, before waking up early the next morning to move on to our next camp on the Orange River just over the Namibian border. The camp was fab, with a great bar overlooking the river and of course we watched the United game before taking a dip in the river whilst the sunset.
Over the next few days we visited the Fish River Canyon and had a great day waking up at a ridiculous hour (4 o clock!) so we could hike up a sand dune (harder than it sounds - in the dark and on an empty stomach!) and watch the sunrise. It was however well worth it, if only for the run back down! From there we had a guided tour of the sand dunes - doesn't sound as exciting as it actually was - with a real Bush man called France. Absolute Hero. Was like Bear Grylls but without any of the fake stuff.
And now we are here... in Swakopmund, a very bizarre, quiet, German colonial town on the Skeleton Coast for 3 nights. We basically have free reign so the first priority is of course finding out where the United game is on tonight and then sampling a few local beers and spirits.
Anyway, we hope you are all ok and we will try to update more. promise!
Lots of Love
Charlie and Spence xxx
