We arrived in New Zealand at 2.10pm. When we got our of the airport was cold. A lot colder than Australia. We got the bus into town and found our hostel. The hostel is pretty small and very empty but is really nice. We went to the shop and had a little wonder was quite late by the time we got back to the hostel took us about an hour to find a pay phone. Didn't even end up finding one someone lents us there phone to call them. Sorted our bus to leave for kaikoura.
The next day we got the bus to Kaikoura when we got there they took us to the coastline where there were loads of seals. They stank was horrible but they were cute from a distance. Kaikoura was so small was pretty much just one road that we saw. We went to the shop got dinner and then just watched some films. Was freezing here. That night we went to the local pub and did the pub quiz. One of the old guys who worked there gave us laods of answers was so funny. We didn't do to bad. Didn't win though.
Next day we left for Nelson. Nelson was really nice a lot bigger than we first thought. Took us a day or so to realise how big it was. Wasn't loads to do there but was a nice place. We went to the look out point, which is glassed a the centre of NZ and got to look out quite far was a really sunny day so had great views. We didn't do much in Nelson apart from walk around and watched telly at night, wasn't much night life and was to cold to wonder around at night.
The next day we headed back on he road and went to the middle of no where was a tiny little place. The kiwi bus we got on were really clicky. They didn't really talk to anyone but there big group. The bus drive was really nice she was crazy. We ended up jsut playing glames that night we played pictionary. I was on Jo's team was so funny she was terrible couldn't quess anything even the easy drawings was so funny.
After we went to a little seal colony walk along the cliff side the West coast is so pretty. That night we went to the Poo Pub, which is were they have a fancy dress party. Our theme was anything but clothes, so we had to make outfits out of anything but clothing. Was so funny. Me and jo went as parrots wore a table cloth and covered it in feathers, then had a hats and made beeks. Was so funny. Lucy and Rach dressed as dice. They had massive boxes. Rach kept dropping her camera case took her ages to bend over to pick up back up again. The party was pretty crap there was to much of a divide in the group so was a bit crap. Ended up going to bed about 12 coz it was so boring. I enjoyed dressing up tho was good fun.
After the Poo Pub we headed to Franz Joseph. That was a really nice place, also really tiny. We booked our glacier hike when we got there.
On our first full day we did our Glacier hike. That was really good. The weather wa really nice at the start of the day but started to rain later in the afternoon but was stil good. Was so pretty on the Glacier. My grips on the shoes kept falling apart, so had to keep fixing but they were ok in the end. On the way up the glacier i fell into a pool of water only up to me knee though which i was glad about. Was freezing though got my foot soaked. Was so funny. Some of the bits we had to walk threw were so tight. My bag bearly fit threw them, got us soaked coz we had to rub up against the ice. By the end up got freezing, mainly hands got so cold even the gloves got soaked by the ice. On the way down slipped all in the mud was so funny got so dirty. Was such a good laugh had a great day and was stunning being on the Glacier.
The next day everyone on our old bus left and we stayed another night in Franz joseph was glad to get rid of the old bus. Today i did my Skydive. It was Amazing. Really enjoyed it. Was such a sunny day had a perfect view of everything. We flew over the highest mountain in NZ Mt Cook. I went up in the plane with Rachel but i was the first to jump out of everyone, wasn't scared was so excited thought i'd be really scared. when they opened the door had to sit hanging out of the plane was soo cool had brilliant views. as soon as i put my foot out tho almost lost my shoes so was trying to keep them on all the way down. The freefall was amazing but get to see everything once the parachute goes up. When we landed we got to see our dad's which was really funny. Was such a good day to jump really enjoyed it would love to do it again. It all goes so fast its hard to take it all in!
The next day we got on our new bus, everyone was much nicer. We went to lake matheson, which is famous for its reflections. Has the reflection of Mt cook and Mt tasman was a really good view looked really nice. There was snow and ice everywhere but was a really sunny day. We stayed there for a few hours while we waited for the rest of them to do their bungy jumps. After that we headed to wanaka. We got there quite late so didn't get chance to do anything there, but don't think there is much to do there unless you want to ski there.
The next day we headed to Queenstown. On the way we stopped of at puzzling world. That was funny had a big maze and all optical illusions. The maze took us ages coz you have to find all the four corners. One of them took ages, but was good fun. After that we went straight to Queenstown. We had a group photo by the lake then went to our hostel. Stayed in a base again. Was alright nothing special. Queenstown was really nice. Not to big just the right size. Has little back streets with loads of nice little shops, mainly skiing and snow boarding stuff. We booked to go skiing for 2 days with 2 beginner lessons and one refresher lesson. Skiing went really well was so funny. The lesson were fine but after our lesson we went on the slopes i went so fast and couldn't stop my self was screeming going down. so i just dropped to the floor to stop my self thought i was gonna fl of the edge. Was so funny couldn't stop laughing. After tried it again, didn't go as fast but still couldn't stop so fell over. It's so hard to get back up with ski's on. The rest of the day i was fine and managed to do it all ok. Was a good day, got a bit foggy threw the day tho.
The next day we went back up the slopes we had a refresher lesson, which we went onto the bigger slopes. that was really good. Did well on that one, didn't get told i was doing anything wrong so was all good. Didn't like the ski lifts tho thought i was going to fall of them everytime luckily didn't tho. We only stayed on one slope today didn't want to try any of the others. Started to get quite icy in the afternoon so wasn't as fun to ski on. Was to rough,like it when its snowy and smooth. Really enjoyed skiing though was really glad i liked it as i've always wanted to do it. After our first day skiing we had a Fergburger, famous to Queenstown. Everyone who comes to Queenstown has to have at least one altho some people eat them all the time. They are massive. So nice they do all different kind some are so big the lads we were with struggled to fit it in their mouths. Was so funny. But good burgers.
While in Queenstown it was so busy for skiing that all the hostels were pretty full. We couldn't stay in base the whole time so walked all around looking for hostels found one for one night then another for the other nights. In 8 night we were here we had to stay in 3 hostels. The last hostel was really nice, small hostel right in the centre. Really liked queenstown was a pretty place.
After Queenstown we went to Takepo for 3 nights, thats a tiny village in the middle of nowhere as well. Was really pretty though. We walked up Mount John, which was really nice and had brilliant views as we walked it on a good day. Was fairly icy on the way up but not too bad. On the way down we came down the opposite way, it was so icy. Couldn't walk properly just ended up sliding all the way down was just like an ice rink was pretty scary. While we were in Tekapo rach who has been with us since christchurch was staying with friends there so we went over there for dinner and watched the rugby match, all blacks against Australia. Wasn't a very good match New Zealand won, but didn't play very well. Was so nice to be in a house tho!

After Tekapo we went bak to Christchurch. Seemed much warmer there this time after coming from freezing Queenstown. It was hotter tho we had some really nice days. Some of the guys we met on our bus came up christchurch a few days later so spent quite a while with them. This time we actually got to see Christchurch rather than just spending the night. Its quite a nice city, pretty small though. We stayed there for about a week then headed back up to Kaikoura. Didn't do anything different from last time we were there. Everyone was in bed pretty early, so we didn't do the pub quiz. The next day we went to the ferry terminal to head into the north island. Can't wait to go to the north. The ferry took 3 hrs didn't realise it was that far to the north island.
