Cestria travelled to Dalkeith, Edinburgh today for our first game in quite a few weeks due to weather to play Hearts U17. We were expecting a tough game and that's what we got for the majority of the game. Hearts kicked off and were well drilled and organised in the early skirmishes on a quite heavy pitch which was in decent nick considering the time of year.

The girls soon got into the swing of things however going one up after a neat interchange between Meg and Beth resulting in Meg threading a ball through for Rosie who, still with a lot to do, went past a number of defenders, round the gk and fired in from a tight angle. Cestria continued to edge the game up until HT with Amy in goal not having a save to make.

The girls scored a second early in the half with a Beth screamer over the head of the excellent Hearts gk. Excellent work from Gabby and Beth down the left released Jess who was hacked down when through on goal. Beth expertly put the pen away for 3-0.
Cestria added a fourth when Meg knocked a great through ball for Jess who lobbed the gk for Megan Beel to tap in a much deserved goal. The girls were running riot now and their hard work in training was really paying off. The 5th and 6th goals arrived with Rosie again after great work and then a class finish from Jess.

Good workout against a well drilled Hearts team. Many thanks for the great hospitality from our hosts and good luck for the season.
