Hello All!

Well I made it through the CELTA course! I can now make a bold claim to be able to teach, hmm! There were a couple of wobbly moments and I took up smoking for a few days to beat the stress, but those days over, time for alcohol!!   Bizarrely enough my sister gave up smoking on exactly the same day I succumed to it and burnt my eyelashes trying to get my first nicotine fix!!   Luckily it was only witnessed by the catfish, but I'm sure I saw one of them laughing (yes, I did go insane for a short while).  All part of the experience. 

Its taken a while to chill out and wind down. Poor old Karen got the brunt of it when I had a HUGE go at her for being 20 minutes late meeting me.  I'd paced up and down the shopping centre, telling myself its o.k, she probably doesn't have a watch. When she eventually turned up and I found it wasn't true I turned into Miss Incredible Hulk.  So we're not talking now and I think we've decided to go our seperate ways. Its a shame, but its time for the littlest Hobo to go it alone!

The course was actually fantastic and I've got so much from it. Not least about teaching but also how to cope under extreme pressure in a Big Brother style enviornment with catfish therapy! The students were fantastic, incredibly respectful and very patient too!  They bought us food and gifts on the last day which was really sweet. I'll miss them! Have a look at the photos of the training centre, a very cool place!! Shame we had to work while we were there.

So now the mission is to chill out and relax in Chiang Mai. When the sight of middle aged fat western men with Thai girls gets too much then I think we'll be heading to Laos. (By the way, that stuff about me and Karen going our seperate ways was a joke, the situation epitomised our personaliites and we both saw the funny side over a few drinks later on!).

 If anyone fancies Skyping me then I'll be around here for another week at the least.
