Day 9 of our European adventure
We pulled into kusadasi turkey this am & boarded our motor coach for Ephesus! The ruins at Ephesus were incredible--you could really imagine what it must have been like to have lived during those times! We saw the temple of Hadrian & the odeon theater & the Celsus library & the great theater (which is still used today)! We also toured the virgin Mary's home which was on top of this mountain! The road leading to it reminded me of the curvy road to Hana in Maui! There was a "curative healing springs" up there where we got a nice cool drink of water! Then our bus continued on to the ruins of the Basilica of St. John. It is believed that St. John is buried there! When we arrived back in kusadasi we saw a carpet weaving demonstration & had a snack & then went shopping! The vendors kept coming out of their shops & trying to get us to buy something in their shops! My favorite line from one of the vendors was, "let me be the last one to rip you off before you get back on the ship!"
