Hi all, weather hasn't been the best the last few days (yes it has been raining non stop today - how rude ;P!) so unfortunately we didn't do the sky dive yesterday but more fortunately we have a little more time to prepare!
Did the Gondola and the Luge before departing from Queenstown though which was good fun then heading to Lake Wanaka as pic above! Oz style drive then took us to Franz Josef Glacier a fair few hours later ready for the morning's guide trip up the Glacier itself.
We were guidied through, up and down the emerging rainforest and cliffs to get to the Glacier for starters (loads of layers worn made this very hot work!) then we donned the great CRAMPONS.... and climbed.... and climbed. A great and worthwhile experience that helped burn off a little "pudding" too!
ps - We love crampons!
Later yesterday we drove the West Coast (GOR eat your heart out!) and stopped in Punakaiki this morning to view the pancake rocks which proved to be a better sight than we had thought!
Onwards to Nelson now!
Sending waves of love back home
xx
