We left Delhi on Singapore Airlines which was probably one of the best nights accomodation we had had during our stay in India!
We arrived early in the morning to what seemed like a different world or planet. The roads and streets were clean and strainght, the cars were smooth, the buildings, roads and parks were well made and it was so so quiet. We headed to the Little India area to make ourselves feel a bit more at home and checked into a room above a pub, perfect.
After catching up on a couple of hours sleep we headed into Singapore to explore. We walked through so many shopping malls with designer shops, good old top shop and other food and clothes shops. We went to Raffles hotel and wondered around the grounds, i got some golf tees for my dad but decided not to splash out on a $21 cocktail. We went to an Irish bar where i enjoyed my first cider and black in too long, it was lovely. We looked through some local magazines which took us to a bohemion area on the outskirts of the city. We found our way to a very chilled out bar in a street full of art shops. The buildings were all very old houses which had been converted. The staff and local people in the bar were very friendly, a man took a parrot from one of the cages hanging in the bar and brought it over to us, the parrot stayed with us on our hands, shoulders and heads for the rest of the evening.
We were up early the next morning to get the subway to the airport for our flight to Bangkok. The subway was so easy, calm and quick; slightly different to the good old underground at home. Singapore was such a culture shock from spending three months in India.
