First of al i am sorry for any bad English used in these entries, i have had a few complaints...mum and Claire, thanks for pointing it out. I do not get long to use the internet so do not go back over to check.
We left Goa and had a 22 hour journey from hell that should have taken 16 hours. I felt tired, dirty and bruised from the bumpy roads when we eventually left the prison coach that had taken us from Goa to Bangalore (in land from Goa). The Indian people just want to plaese so when you ask can you take me to this address they will always say yes even if they have no clue as to where it is. Therefor when we eventually arrived in Bangalore it took us twice as long as it should have to get to annie's friends address. The city is so polluted, i had to use my scarf thing to cover my face the whole way. Annie's friend Sheena and her boyfriend Paul very kindly said that they would put us up for a couple of nights. Their house was amazing, we must have looked a sight when we turned up to this moderm, clean, beautiful housing resort, i didn't want to touch anything as we entered their house. She insisted on tea and we insisted on drinking it outside on their balcony, next thing in order was a hot shower, been a while since i'd had a hot one, lovely. Bangalore was very westernised, the buildings, roads, dress was all much more modern although there is a dancing ban at the moment, (we did find it quite tempting to give a little wiggle every now and then though). We ate well and lived well for the few days in Bangalore, big thankyou to Sheena and Paul.
We then got a train to Kerala, we met a lovely lady who talked alot about Kerela to us and helped uswith the prices we should paying to get taxis etc. This journey was a luxory compared to our prison bus, it was until the rats showed up! The first one i saw in the corner of my eyes, it was tiny but fast. We were very careful from then on about food and crumbs. However it turned up again in the middle of the night right by poor Dannielle's head, she screamed and woke the whole carrige. We ended up top and tailing on the top bunks for the rest of the night. I then saw it a few times in the morning, i kept it to myself as much as i could though because Dan and aniie were starting to get quite distressed about the whole situation. I also kept it to myself that i think there was more than just one, either that or the rat had found so much food that it had put on a few pounds over night and thenlost it again.
We are now at a beach called Kovalam in Kerala, it has two lovely beaches with huge waves. There is a light house on the rocks of one of the bays surrounded with palm trees, it looks like a fake bit of scenery. It is quite touristy here with lots of resorts and hotels. Dan and I were very lucky to find some very cheap accomodation in a resort with a swimming pool. It is coming to the end of the holiday season so they are looking to just fill rooms without making money, lucky us. Again over the next few weeks we will move up the coast to a backbackers beach, to a village called Kochi, to the back waters for some boat rides and then inland to the hills where there are huge tea and coffee plantations as well as beautiful lakes and waterfalls.
