Hey hey Everyone,
I am about to catch the train to Bangkok 14hrs of fun,fun and more fun...going to sleep loads as a few of us that are left went out last night here. Very random...a bar with semi naked thai girls and then a club with a heap of prostitutes and if you talk to a western guy they wave their fist at you (mum i didn't have anyone do that to me!)
Right anyhow back to the trip...things are great i'm so happy and excited as i'm off to Oz on sat woo hoo and catching up with Charlene and Simon. So Laos was brilliant by far my favourite country...not sure what i worte in the last blog but it was just an amazing country...people were so friendly, they don't want for anything and live such simple lives. There i visited temples, had two massages...one by the guy, which was a little weird! Went tubing in Vang Vieng, which was a laugh and climbed a mountain (not joking) to go see a friggin cave..it was impressive but i've never sweated so much to get up there, my legs were shaking but the view was worth it! Visited Luang Pruang *can't remember how to spell it) for 3 days and there, their was this brill cafe called Joma's we all lived in there yummy! You know i thought coming to Asia i'll lose some weight, it happened to Roisin but no no not for Cat...still the same...damn it!!!
Spent two days travelling on the Mekong river through Laos to the Thai border. This was very relaxing and cool as the scenery was top!
I arrived in Chiang Mai last fri and it was the end of our tour so we all went out for our leaving meal and drinks with our tour guide Soon. She was ace...really nice lady from Thailand but works the tour through laos. Anyhow...here i visited 3 temples...hung out with a monk for a few hours talking about Buddism and his English exam...ooh took part in a cooking course...mad idea when you're hungover but it was fun though one of the girls that was there was very annoying...she kept asking stupid questions and suckng up...argh! On Monday Jessie (my roomie from Oz) and i went out to an Elephant rescue centre for the night to help out. This was a truly amazing experience...you know i'm not a massive fan of those creatures but when you hear how they are treated here and in other countries it nice to know that your money is helping save them (see i'm doing a bit for the future of others!) Fed them, semi washed them..didn't really want to get in the river with there poo and pee.
Today i've hungout with Jessie...downloads pics to 5discs...have loads to put on here will get to work soon but just don't have the time but will make it once in oz. Had a random experience of a leg wax...watching the lady melt the wax with a hair dyer...hmm i thought this is going to hurt and well lets just say it looks like a have a love bite by my knee. Had to tell her to stop and it was taking ages.
I do hope you are all well and enjoying whatever is happening where you are. I have been a little homesick last week due to the birth of my gorgeous nephew Archie but i'm back on form and not being a misery!
Love to all...write on my message board want to know what you think of my travels and that. Cheers mum for the message...i'm miles away and you're still moaning...know you love me and i hope you're saving my pocket money for when i'm broke haha! xxx
