Thursday April 10
I took a train up to Edinburgh, Scotland where I took a plane to Dublin, Ireland. I was in Ireland by 6:00 so I had plenty of time to kill. I found my hostel and decided to refresh my memory on where everything was located in the city, since Chris and I weren't going to have much time in Ireland. It didn't take long for me to remember where everything was located so I just headed back to my hostel after grabbing something to eat. I was planning on going to bed early since I had to get up early to meet Chris at the airport, however i met some girls from Australia whom i ended up talking with for a couple of hours.
Friday April 11
I got up Friday morning at 6:30, which was actually an hour later than I set my alarm for. For some reason i never wake up to my alarm anymore and its so annoying! I was afraid that Chris's plane was going to get in early so I wanted to be at the airport an hour earlier. It worked out because his plane ended up being more than an hour late. Being the awesome person that I am, I made a sign for Chris that said "My Boyfriend" in bright blue marker. Not only was I holding the sign up for over an hour, I had probably 25-30 men pretend like they were my boyfriend and most women that passed by thought it was really cute. So although i felt pretty stupid, it made waiting go by fairly fast. Finally around 9:30 he came walking out of the customs doors and we immediately hopped on a bus to the City Center. We found our hostel, but weren't able to check in until later so we went to the bus station to buy tickets to Galway. Since I had already been to Dublin, Chris and I decided it would be fun to take a trip to another city. I had heard that Galway was a really pretty city, and there were other natural attractions nearby to see, including The Cliffs of Mohrer ((picture above)). Both Chris and i were really excited to see the Cliffs of Mohrer and without knowing it had both set the Cliffs as the background to our computers! The bus ride ended up being twice as long as we expected...4 hours just to get to Galway. But dont worry it gets better...We got there and immediately checked trains/buses to the Cliffs of Mohrer. Turns out the Cliffs are located 2 hours from Galway and the first and only bus left at 10:30 in the morning! I guess this is why planning ahead is sometimes a good idea. This was my second time to Ireland and I still had not seen Ireland's Coast! With the cliffs out of the question we tried to move on to plan B ((we didn't have one)). It was too late in the day to really travel anywhere so we settled on walking around Galway. We were a little bummed because really the only reason we came to Galway was to be able to see the cliffs. We even looked in to renting a car that was ridiculously priced! What made things better was that we still had a 4 hour bus ride back without getting to see what we actually came to see! Chris and I made the most of the situation and just walked around Galway for a while until getting on the bus headed back to Dublin. Chris was exhausted from all the traveling, and I was equally as tired from the lack of sleep I had the night before so we both tried to sleep on the bus. It was 9:30PM by the time we made it back to Dublin so we finally checked in to our hostel. It was at that time that i realized I didnt have my wallet. I remembered Chris handing it to me in the bus but I didn't think that i had actually put my wallet back in my purse. So Chris and I walked all the way back to the train station and ended up waiting for an hour an a half for the bus that we were on to return back from its destination. I am happy to say that I got my wallet back. I was a little amazed considering we were in one of the biggest cities in Dublin. So we finally made it back to our hostel, and it was already late so we decided to find a pub to hang out in. Our hostel was right in the Temple Bar area where a lot of the popular pubs are located so it didn't take us long to find one. We both wanted to hear real authentic Irish music and we did! I even got to dance a little bit! We didnt end up going to bed till late so getting up the next morning was not fun at all.
Saturday April 12
Saturday morning was our only time to tour Dublin so Chris and I got up early and walked to St. Patrick's Cathedral and walked around inside for a while and then walked to The Guinness Factory to check that out. I had already been to the factory, but i had no problem going back because even though I hate beer, the set up of the museum is really cool and worth seeing. We didn't have time to see anything else since we needed to get to the airport to catch our flight to Edinburgh, Scotland.
