I woke up early, had breakfast - ricee and beans of course and then went paddle boarding in lake Arenal. This was part of my adrenaline packiage which 3 others also had, Sven, James and michaela. It was a cloudy day so there was no views I the volcano.
It was much harder then I thought it would be, not because of the balance, which was easier than I thought, but because of the steering. My boat would only go right. After two hours on the water, we headed back to la Fortuna.
We stopped for lunch in La Fortuna at a place called the rainforest cafe, which served very nice burritos. The sun finally came out and I enjoyed a nice walk back to the accommodation.
After a quick change around we head of canyoneering in the rainforest. This involved rappelling - abseiling on rope down sharp rock faces, climbing through the river and surprises such a plunge pools. It was a lot of fun and the water was surprisingly warm! Just as we finished there was the most epic rain storm ever. Now I know why it's called a rainforest. Within seconds the path turned into a river and quite dangerous. I enjoyed some more rice and beans before heading back to meet the whole group.
We then went to some hot springs, a natural river heated by the Volcano. Candles were lit when it got dark, beers were drank and it wAs very nice. We then went for more food, I only managed chips as the thought of more rice and beans was just too much! We then saw a party bus aka the police van. A group of us then went to an empty bar for yagerbombs an rum and then went to bed, again walking through another rain storm.
