This morning after a long much needed Skype with Harriet I went on a small adventure :). Paula kindly lent me her car and my first mission was to learn to drive it and fill it up. I definitely prefer driving a manual car! I went for a run round the peninsula which was a lot hillier then I anticipated but the view was well worth it! I managed to take a wrong turning which extended my route considerably on the way back to the car, but I had a good run so it wasn't...

Today Becky and I went fishing with some of her friends which meant an early start on the water! We had to layer up big time and the water was really choppy. We spent the morning on the water and managed to catch a few fish (snapper's) - one was massive! I had a bit of trouble winding it up.. It was fighting big time! I'm not going to lie it was pretty creepy holding a super heavy, huge, large, live, fish! After all of that we went back home for some lunch befor...

Today was my first day staying with Clive and Paula. We went to the farmers market at Matakana where they sold local wines, breads, veg, fish etc.. Pretty cool experience. It was gorgeous and sunny.. Pretty warm too; at least as warm as the UK and it's winter here! We went down to the beach at Omaha which was beautiful and walked the dogs. This afternoon we have been up in Dome Valley with machetes cutting a mountain bike route! It was pretty fun but I got cove...

Today I felt so tired! Jet lag is a killer! I went up the sky tower which is the tallest building in NZ; there was an awesome view of Auckland and the coffee wasn't bad either! Then Paula picked me up and I have come up to Warkworth to stay. Clive and I went off to see some trails and running routes and managed to catch the sunset! Everything was pretty orange- beautiful!

Today was pretty chilled which is exactly what I needed! We went for a walk along the beach in Milford to get some Kiwiyo! It's yummy frozen yoghurt with toppings :). I also learnt a bit of New Zealand culture... Pavlova is a NZ dessert! There are random statues around of things like a carrot, sheep, kiwi and dog, there's around 60 volcanoes around Auckland.... I'm having a great time already and it's only been my first full day :)
