Today we set off from Christchurch up to Kaikoura which is on the east coast! I've been looking forward to this as Kaikoura is where you can do the whale watching in NZ! Today we have been on the Milford Explorer to Milford Sound with is one of the eight wonders of the world! The drive there was incredible! The 'Remarkables' (the mountain range where Queenstown is) looked amazing this morning! We then stopped in a place called Te Anau which is the second most southern city in New Zealand before heading on State Highway 94 to Milford! This road has been voted number one in the world!!! We have finally made it out of Franz Josef. There has been some bad weather causing the road to close so we had to stay for an extra night. Due to this we have to miss out our stay at Wanaka which is annoying, but we have managed to get to Lake Matheson this morning which is good. There was a perfect reflection of the trees and mountains in the lake- beautiful! Thankfully the Haast Pass was open and we drove through to Wanaka. Wanaka is just beautiful.. Mountain...

Today was our last day here! We went for a walk to the glacier where we saw a triplet waterfall and the bottom of the glacier where is turns into a river. It was a pretty rainy day but it was a good walk. It's been a nice few days chilling here, went down to the 'hot pools' and had a few good nights by the fire in the bar getting to know new people. Tomorrow is a travel day.. Only 9 days left in NZ.. It's gone too fast :(

Travelling to Franz Josef was a quick 2 hour journey. We checked into Rainforest Retreat and grabbed a bite to eat before getting all out kit on to go Glacier Hiking. We had a helicopter ride up onto the glacier and quickly popped our cramp-ons on. We were on the glacier for a good 3 hours trekking around through ice caves and corridors and into crevasses!
