After crossing the border we stopped for the night in Chau Doc where during the evening we took motorbikes up to the top of sam mountain where we got drinks and laid in hammocks to watch the sunset. Thursday morning we took the public bus to Sihanoukville where we arrived at 2pm to find that we were staying in bungalows a few minutes walk away from the beach. We spent the afternoon on the beach and then had a bbq dinner on the beach where we had a power cut half way through the evening and a massive storm hit the beach. The next day we were up early and left Bangkok by minibus and arrived at the thai/ cambodian border around lunchtime. Having crossed the border we boarded another bus and drove for five hours to siam reap. The following day we left at 5am to see angkor wat at sunrise which was lovely although there were a lot of mosquitos!! We went back to the hotel for breakfast and then had a guided tour around angkor thom, jungle temple (the one in tomb raider!) and angkor wat...

Having landed in Bangkok we spent the next few days resting, posting things home and watching some bad movies. Helen was also ill this week again! so we didnt do much sight seeing before our tour. Saturday 8th may we started our indochina tour and met the twelve other people that we were spending the next 9 days with and went for a traditional thai meal that night.

5am (yawn :0 pretty tired at this point) took the coach earlier than normal due to the May Day rallies that were starting the next day. We drove and queued until we reached Kathmandu and then visited the monkey temple, it was not great and Helen and I have developed a bit of a monkey phobia as they seem to be rather aggressive and tend to steal things!
