Tuesday 3 February Penguin (touring)
Sunny and warm 24 however cool in the afternoon with cloud
This morning we were in no hurry to set off as our tee time at Devonport was at 1pm. We looked for something to fill in a couple of hours and decided on the Bass Strait Maritime Museum. We arrived there just after it opened at 10am and had a coffee on the deck outside which was lovely, with the sun shining. Dad and I went into the Museum and enjoyed the extensive display. Dad had been on a few of the ships which had models displayed. The ferry that first brought him, Mum and their car to Tasmania in 1954 showed how they loaded the passenger's cars with a sling. It was a very interesting Museum but quite small with a couple of volunteers on hand to discuss the setup and displays.
We went to the golf club at Devonport for lunch before our game at 1pm. The course is probably more manicured than Ulverstone but had its challenges. We got around quickly in 4hours and once again Dad was declared the winner with 41 points, Chris was second.
We called into Devonport to buy some food and found a fish shop and bought Gummy Fish for dinner. It’s a white fish with a red stripe. So for dinner we enjoyed fish and salad. The weather has been great so far with very comfortable temperatures for golf and touring.
